Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), the world’s largest diamond exchange, infused its premises with festive cheer on August 16 as employees came together to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami. This year’s observance went far beyond tradition, blending cultural joy with team-building to highlight the strength and togetherness of the BDB community.
Dedicated especially to the security and housekeeping staff—who play an indispensable role in safeguarding and maintaining the complex—the event recognized their tireless commitment while offering a space to unwind and celebrate. The center piece of the day was a spirited Dahi Handi competition, staged within the BDB premises, that brought out the passion and energy of the participants.
Four enthusiastic teams—Men’s Security, Women’s Security, Men’s Housekeeping, and Women’s Housekeeping—spent nearly two weeks practicing after hours, preparing for the big day with determination and camaraderie. Their enthusiasm paid off, creating an atmosphere charged with excitement and collective pride.
The celebrations were graced by BDB Committee Members Mr. Prakash C. Shah, Mr. Kiran K. Gandhi, and Mr. Paresh Mehta, who applauded the participants’ zeal and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and employee well-being.
Vice-President of BDB, Shri Mehul Shah, addressed the gathering with heartfelt words: “Our people are our true strength. This Janmashtami celebration reflects our commitment to their happiness, well-being, and unity. Seeing our teams come together with such energy fills me with immense pride—it’s about more than festivities, it’s about building a compassionate and resilient community.
Unlike organizations that simply declare a holiday, BDB brought the festival into the workplace, transforming it into an engaging and unifying spectacle. Employees expressed deep gratitude for the initiative, with one participant sharing: “Being part of this celebration made us feel truly valued. Preparing together strengthened our bonds and gave us memories we’ll cherish.
The Janmashtami festivities lit up the BDB community, fostering connections, laughter, and collective joy. By celebrating with its employees, BDB once again underscored its belief that a world-class diamond hub can also be a people-first workplace—where tradition, appreciation, and togetherness shine as brightly as the diamonds it represents.
