Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), Mumbai, came alive with patriotic energy as the institution celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day. The gathering reflected the nation’s enduring values of freedom, resilience, and unity, while reaffirming the diamond industry’s commitment to contributing to India’s progress.

The program opened with evocative patriotic recitations that set a heartfelt tone for the day. A symbolic flag hoisting ceremony was led by Shri Mehul Shah, Vice President of BDB, reminding all present of the sacrifices that shaped India’s freedom and the shared responsibility of protecting it.

The event was graced by eminent personalities including Mr. Kobbi Shoshani, Consul General of Israel in Mumbai; Mr. Eko Santoso Junor, Consul – Economy of Indonesia in Mumbai; and Shri Ramlal Ji, National Co-Incharge of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Their presence, alongside senior leaders of the diamond trade such as Shri Kiritbhai Bhansali, Managing Committee Member of BDB and Chairman of GJEPC, underscored the institution’s strong global and national partnerships.

As part of the commemorations, BDB extended heartfelt appreciation to Mumbai’s frontline forces—the Police for their courage, the Fire Brigade for their valor, and the BMC for their disciplined service. Their tireless dedication remains central to the safety and vitality of the city.

Special recognition was also accorded to Mr. Shirish Inamdar, Consultant – Security & Vigilance, and Mr. Samir Kumar Jha, General Manager – DSFS, whose leadership ensured the seamless execution of the day’s events.

The celebration concluded with a united pledge to honor the Tiranga and a reminder that independence is not just a legacy but a responsibility to be carried forward. Through this observance, BDB once again reaffirmed its gratitude to the nation and its protectors, while pledging to contribute to a stronger and more secure India for the future.
