The International Institute of Gemology (IIG), a leading force in jewellery education since 1965, celebrated its Global Convocation 2025 on August 4 at Sahara Star, Mumbai. With over 150 graduates from India and abroad, the event marked a significant milestone in IIG’s journey towards inclusive, future-forward education. A dedicated virtual ceremony was also held for international and remote learners.
A major highlight was the launch of Diamond Fundamentals, a dynamic new learning module curated to meet the real-time demands of the gem and jewellery industry. IIG also introduced RD Consultancy, an initiative by CEO & MD Mr. Rahul Desai, aimed at offering post-graduation business mentoring and strategic guidance.
Mr. Desai shared, “At IIG, education is more than a curriculum—it’s about context, community, and career support. We’re building a platform that evolves with every learner’s journey.”
COO Gunjan Sapra emphasized the importance of creativity, discipline, and continuous learning, affirming IIG’s commitment to staying ahead through constant innovation—from tools like ZBrush to complete curriculum upgrades.
Industry influencer Prernaa Makhariaa, founder of Jewellery Networking, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the synergy between IIG’s graduates and her platform’s vision of building industry connections.
