Delegates attending the Kimberley Process Intersessional in Mumbai were welcomed at Bharat Diamond Bourse for an exclusive tour of the world’s largest functional diamond exchange and the India Diamond Trading Centre.

The visiting delegation received a ceremonial red-carpet welcome, complete with a performance by the official BDB Band, underscoring the importance of the Kimberley Process to the global diamond industry. The initiative continues to play a vital role in supporting peace, protecting livelihoods, and strengthening legitimate diamond trade worldwide.

Mehul Shah welcomed the delegates and highlighted the Kimberley Process’s significance to the diamond sector. He invited mining economies to showcase rough diamonds at the India Diamond Trading Centre, noting that direct access to BDB’s vast network of manufacturers and buyers could reduce transaction costs, save time, and help producers secure better prices for their goods.

Following a group photograph, delegates toured the extensive BDB campus and were introduced to its advanced infrastructure, stringent security systems, and the world-class facilities at the India Diamond Trading Centre. Guided by BDB committee members, the visitors were given a comprehensive overview of the bourse and its role as a key hub for global diamond trading.
