GJEPC brought its newly launched ‘How and Why to Export’ initiative to Zaveri Bazaar, Mumbai, on 25 November, aiming to equip first-time exporters in the gem and jewellery trade with practical, ground-level guidance. The workshop focused on easing MSMEs into international markets by demystifying export processes and highlighting the support available to them.
During the session, Council officials walked participants through three core themes. They began by outlining how GJEPC serves as a critical partner for exporters—from policy advocacy to global outreach and trade intelligence. This was followed by a step-by-step overview of how to begin exporting, covering essentials such as obtaining an IEC, managing documentation, understanding logistics, accessing finance, and staying compliant.
The final segment spotlighted government schemes that can ease an exporter’s journey, particularly credit and MSME-centred programmes. With this initiative, GJEPC aims to nurture a stronger pipeline of new exporters and plans to expand these workshops to key trading hubs across the country in the coming months.
