The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) recently conducted a hybrid onboarding session in collaboration with eBay and Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC, aimed at accelerating e-commerce adoption among exporters. Held on 25 March, the session brought together 64 participants from the gems and jewellery sector.
Designed to simplify global market access, the session walked attendees through platform onboarding, compliance requirements, and operational support systems. Industry experts shared practical insights to help businesses transition smoothly into digital exports.
Saurabh Wadhwa from eBay outlined the registration framework and necessary documentation for sellers. Ravi Menon of Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC introduced AI-powered solutions that enable exporters to create high-quality product listings without traditional photoshoots, significantly lowering costs and timelines. Meanwhile, Nitin Khandelwal of GJEPC highlighted e-commerce as an accessible entry point for emerging exporters looking to tap international demand.
Following the session, GJEPC announced plans to organise structured onboarding batches for participants ready with documentation, alongside dedicated assistance for existing sellers navigating operational challenges. A second group will also be formed for those still in the process of completing requirements.
The initiative underscores a rising industry shift towards digital platforms as a scalable and efficient export channel.
