ALROSA has published its 15th Annual Sustainability Report, outlining the company’s strategy, operational scale and 2025 performance across key sustainability areas. The report also highlights ALROSA’s contribution to Russian National Development Priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

“Over the past year, ALROSA has once again demonstrated its ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment and to address complex challenges and risks. The Company not only maintained its leading position in the global diamond mining industry and delivered solid financial results, but also strengthened its commitment to sustainable development as national non-financial reporting standards continue to evolve,” said Pavel Marinychev, CEO of ALROSA.

He added that responsible business practices have helped the company adapt to changes in the global diamond market, manage sustainability-related risks and identify new opportunities, while the well-being of local communities, environmental protection and cultural heritage remain key priorities.

Key Sustainability Highlights

Environmental Protection & Climate Action

  • RUB 11.4 billion allocated to environmental initiatives, including RUB 2.9 billion for ALROSA’s Climate Strategy through 2035.

  • The carbon neutrality of ALROSA diamonds was reconfirmed for 2025. The carbon footprint of rough diamonds stood at -1.18 kg of CO₂-eq per carat, a 60% year-on-year improvement.

  • Total direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 decreased by 13%.

  • ALROSA’s research into CO₂ absorption by kimberlite ore resulted in Russia’s first Carbon Dioxide Removal climate project.

  • Water intake decreased by 5%, while total water consumption fell by 6%.

  • Reused and recycled water accounted for 89% of total water consumption.

  • Renewable energy sources supplied 76% of the company’s electricity needs.

  • RUB 2.4 billion was allocated to the protection and restoration of land and water resources.

  • 7.2 million fish fry and larvae were released into water bodies in regions where ALROSA operates.

Development of Operating Regions

  • RUB 8.2 billion invested in regional social development, supporting education, healthcare, culture, sports, social infrastructure and urban improvement.

  • RUB 1 billion provided through socio-economic development and cooperation agreements with operating regions.

  • More than RUB 1 billion provided over six years to support the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples of the North.

  • Procurement from local suppliers increased by 14 percentage points.

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises accounted for 31% of procurement spending.

Human Capital & Occupational Safety

  • More than 5,000 local residents employed through the “Working Yakutia: Human Capital” programme.

  • RUB 3.2 billion allocated to employee social programmes, including healthcare, wellness and recreation benefits.

  • More than 1,000 employees improved their housing conditions with ALROSA’s support.

  • Women account for more than 30% of ALROSA’s workforce.

  • Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate fell by 11%, while the Vehicle Accident Rate declined by 19%.

  • Investment in occupational health and industrial safety increased by 9%.

Governance & Business Ethics

  • ALROSA’s compliance management system is certified to ISO 37301:2021 requirements.

  • The ALROSA Group Business Partner Code of Ethics was approved.

  • 17,300 business partners were screened for corruption-related risks.

  • Average processing time for Compliance Hotline alerts decreased by 25%.

  • RUB 4.8 billion invested in Russian IT solutions supporting technological sovereignty.

  • RUB 130 million allocated to sustainability-related research and development.

  • RUB 1 billion in economic benefits secured through employee proposals under the “Factory of Ideas” initiative.

Reporting & Assurance

ALROSA’s 2025 Sustainability Report was prepared in line with the UN Global Compact principles, GRI Standards, SASB Standards for the metals and mining industry, IFRS S1 and S2, and relevant Russian non-financial reporting frameworks.

Before publication, the report received independent third-party assurance from an external auditor and underwent a public assurance procedure by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The document was approved by ALROSA’s Supervisory Board on 23 July 2026.
