When Mr Shanker Maliram Kedia opened a modest jewellery store in the narrow lanes of Guru Bazar five decades ago, he set in motion a journey that would reshape the retail landscape of Punjab. On 27th December 2025, that vision reached a defining milestone as Maliram Jewellers celebrated fifty illustrious years at the Radisson Garden, Amritsar, marking the 50-year legacy of a house that has had the privilege of serving three generations of patrons, many of whom today stand connected to Maliram as extended family
From a single store rooted in tradition to three opulent showrooms across Punjab, Maliram’s ascent reflects disciplined growth and enduring trust. The Golden Jubilee evening mirrored the stature of the house. Guests entered through a monumental diamond installation — commanding in presence and symbolic of brilliance refined over time. The décor was expansive and immersive, blending crystal elements, architectural lighting and meticulous detailing. The setting carried the confidence of a brand that has come into its own.
Among the distinguished dignitaries present were Major General Kartik C. Seshadri (GOC, 15 Infantry Division), SS Chandel (DIG, Border Security Force, Amritsar) , Navdeep Suri (Former Ambassador to the UAE and High Commissioner to Australia), Sr Jagjit singh walia, AIG, NRI, Amritsar Zone and DCP, City, Amritsar and Sandeep Rishi, IAS (Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar).
From the heart of the trade, the presence of Shalabh Dusad (Zevar The Jewellery World), Divesh Bhai (Laxmi Jewellery House) and Mauji Patel (Kiran Jewels, the world’s largest diamond exporter) signaled Maliram’s heavyweight status in the supply chain. They were also joined by industry leaders Kamal Bansali, Rahul (Rosy Blue). Other notable attendees included Murali Ayyar of De Beers & Sameer Gosar.
Curated by Manika Vishwakarma and Roosh Sindhu, the evening unfolded with theatre and elegance. A striking jewellery showcase and ramp presentation featured Manika Vishwakarma, Miss Universe India 2025, and Roosh Sindhu, Miss International India 2025, presenting creations that fused legacy with contemporary sophistication. A spirited dance performance by Sneha Gupta and troupe heightened the energy, followed by soulful renditions from Palak Muchhal. The celebration culminated in an electrifying DJ set by Missy K, bringing together generations in a shared moment of revelry.
The visual splendour of the evening was brought to life by BigBash Celebration by Rubin and Swati, whose opulent design transformed the venue into a radiant showcase befitting a Golden Jubilee. Hospitality was entrusted to Foodlink, whose distinguished culinary presentation complemented the grandeur of the occasion with finesse and precision. Beyond the spectacle lay the essence of the celebration — gratitude. It was an evening dedicated to expressing the Maliram family’s heartfelt appreciation to the patrons of Maliram Jewellers, whose enduring loyalty strengthened the house and enabled it to reach this remarkable milestone. The Kedia family acknowledged customers who entrusted Maliram with their most cherished milestones, artisans whose mastery shapes every creation, suppliers who reinforced the enterprise and industry leaders whose association enhanced its stature within the fraternity.
As guests departed with curated mementos symbolising mentorship and continuity, the message was unmistakable: Maliram’s fifty-year journey stands as a powerful reflection of integrity, ambition and relationships nurtured over time. Fifty years have refined Maliram into a name that carries weight within the trade and pride among patrons. As it advances into the decades ahead, the house stands tall — established in heritage, elevated in scale and prepared for a future as luminous as the diamonds it celebrates.
