Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world’s fifth-largest jewellery retailer, has further cemented its presence in the United Kingdom with the opening of two flagship showrooms in Birmingham and Southall. The glittering launch was led by Bollywood icon and brand ambassador Kareena Kapoor Khan, drawing enthusiastic crowds and industry leaders to the celebration.
The inauguration was attended by M P Ahammed, Chairman of Malabar Group, alongside Vice Chairman Abdul Salam K P, International Operations MD Shamlal Ahamed, Group Executive Director A K Faisal, senior management, community representatives, and customers.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman M P Ahammed emphasized the importance of the UK in Malabar’s international growth strategy. “The UK is a key market for us in the West, and these flagship openings mark a proud milestone in our global journey. With four showrooms now in the country, and more in the pipeline, we continue to pursue our mission of being the world’s most trusted jewellery retailer.”
The Birmingham showroom, spanning over 5,700 sq. ft., is now the largest Malabar outlet in the UK. Together, the new showrooms showcase over 30,000 designs in gold, diamond, and precious gemstones, featuring 25 exclusive collections. Customers can also avail of bespoke services, including customised jewellery and bridal designs.
Highlighting the brand’s commitment to ethical practices, Vice Chairman Abdul Salam K P noted, “Every Malabar showroom reflects our promise of transparent and responsible sourcing—be it conflict-free certified diamonds, responsibly mined gold, or fair labour practices. The UK is just the beginning of our larger expansion plans across Europe.”
Currently operating in Birmingham, Leicester, Southall, and Green Street (London), Malabar Gold & Diamonds is preparing for further launches in Manchester, another London location, and its debut in Ireland and France.
