At Bar Luce in Milan’s Fondazione Prada, the lime-green and blush-pink furnishings are instantly recognisable as part of the Prada visual language. A palette often likened to sugared almonds from the brand’s Marchesi pasticceria now takes on a new form—not in interiors or on the runway, but within fine jewellery.

This September sees the launch of Couleur Vivante, Prada’s third fine jewellery collection and its first to highlight gemstones such as amethyst, aquamarine, citrine, morganite and peridot. Once relegated to the label of “semi-precious”, these stones are here celebrated for their individuality, elevated through Prada’s characteristically unconventional approach.

What sets the collection apart is its audacious use of colour combinations: aquamarine with peridot, citrine with morganite, peridot with amethyst. Classic forms—rivière necklaces, solitaire rings, geometric bands and drop earrings become distinctly Prada thanks to these vivid pairings and the inclusion of the Prada Cut, a sharp triangular design that echoes the house’s iconic logo.

In a rare departure from industry practice, sketches preceded stone sourcing. This design-led process has produced pieces that nod to vintage glamour while remaining thoroughly modern: aquamarine drops that recall the 1940s, cocktail-inspired pink-and-green rings with a 1950s feel.

Fronting the campaign is South Korean actress Kim Tae-ri, who perfectly embodies Prada’s contemporary vision of elegance. From October, Couleur Vivante will also be available as a made-to-order service, offering collectors the opportunity to commission bespoke interpretations of the collection.

With Couleur Vivante, Prada reinforces its standing not only as a fashion house but as a force shaping the conversation around colour, design and modern luxury in fine jewellery.
