Bvlgari has taken a historic step in Valenza with the grand expansion of its production facility, transforming it into the largest jewellery manufacturing site operated by a single luxury brand. Officially inaugurated on April 16, the newly extended Manifattura Bvlgari now covers close to 33,000 square metres, setting new benchmarks in both scale and sustainability for the jewellery world.
Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari, described the project as more than an enlargement—calling it the embodiment of the maison’s forward-thinking vision. “The Manifattura brings together cultural diversity, responsible practices, and innovation under one roof,” he noted, highlighting its role as a hub where over 30 nationalities collaborate with a shared commitment to excellence.
The expansion forms a key pillar of Bvlgari’s vertical integration strategy, allowing the brand to oversee every stage of jewellery creation. With plans to double its production capacity by 2029 and add over 500 new artisans, the facility also stands as a symbol of Bvlgari’s enduring commitment to “Made in Italy” values of craftsmanship and design.
A major highlight of the inauguration was the launch of the Scuola Bvlgari—the maison’s first jewellery training school open to the public. Created in partnership with Tarì Design School, the institute offers specialised programs in goldsmithing and gemstone setting, blending heritage techniques with modern tools. It complements the existing Bvlgari Jewelry Academy, established in 2017 for internal training, and further cements the brand’s mission of nurturing future generations of artisans.
Sustainability is at the heart of the project. The facility has been designed to operate with near carbon neutrality, powered by a mix of solar panels, geothermal energy, and other renewable sources. More than 4,000 photovoltaic panels, alongside a geothermal field with 100 deep ground probes, supply the site with energy for heating, cooling, and operations. Plastic-free initiatives, advanced water management, and energy-efficient systems ensure that every aspect of production aligns with Bvlgari’s environmental goals.
Ultimately, the Valenza expansion is not just about bigger numbers—it is about creating an ecosystem where innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship intersect. For Bvlgari, it signals a future where the art of jewellery continues to evolve, while staying rooted in centuries-old traditions.
