Dr. Wang will hold his lecture in the Atrium Ballroom of the Congress venue hotel PARKROYAL, from 11:50am to 12:40pm
Dr. Wang noted that while natural diamonds are celebrated for their beauty, rarity, and symbolism, their ‘deeper story’ remains largely untold. In his talk, he will address the extraordinary and truly exceptional geological origins of diamonds.
Formed up to 3.5 billion years ago (roughly three-quarters the age of Earth) and originating from depths of 150 to 200 kilometers, and in some cases as deep as 800 kilometers, diamonds are among the oldest and deepest-derived materials we can touch. Their inclusions preserve microscopic records of Earth’s interior, offering scientists rare snapshots of our planet’s evolution. More than gemstones, these fascinating crystals are nature’s wonders,” Wang wrote.
The World Diamond Congress is the diamond industry’s foremost global gathering, held every three years biennially by the WFDB and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA). It brings together the global diamond and jewellery industry’s leadership to reflect on the significant challenges and many changes of recent years - and to shape what comes next. The 2026 World Diamond Congress will be held in synergy with the Singapore International Jewelry Expo (SIJE). This strategic co-location creates a unique environment that blends high-level industry discourse with direct exposure to exceptional jewellery, gemstones, and timepieces - alongside collectors, buyers, and influencers from around the world.
“We encourage delegates and industry members to register and book their rooms! Our dedicated Congress website has all the relevant information to make your stay enjoyable and meaningful,” Cascapera concluded.
