The fourth edition of Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai (JGTD) opened its doors yesterday at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), Expo City, uniting the international jewellery trade under one roof. Organised by Informa Markets Jewellery and the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), the event runs until 13 November across Halls 1 and 2 South, showcasing around 400 exhibitors from 26 countries, a 10% growth in net exhibition space from last year.

The opening ceremony took place at the Golden Stage and was graced by Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, Government of Dubai. She toured the show floor, meeting with leading names in the trade and emphasising Dubai’s role as a hub of global jewellery excellence.

Among those present were Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets; Maurizio Ermeti, President of IEG; Feryal Ahmadi, Deputy CEO and COO of DMCC; Tawhid Abdulla, Chairman of the Dubai Jewellery Group; Edoardo Napoli, Consul General of Italy in Dubai; and Valerio Soldani, Trade Commissioner of the Italian Trade Agency Dubai. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit that continues to position JGTD as a vital bridge for global jewellery sourcing and innovation.

This year, exhibitors from Jordan, Kazakhstan, Oman, and Taiwan joined the fair for the first time, adding fresh perspectives and expanding its international footprint. Nine dedicated country pavilions – including China, Dubai, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States – are presenting an extensive range of finished jewellery, gemstones, diamonds, tools, and technology solutions.

A highlight of 2025’s edition is the newly launched High-end Jewellery & Gems Zone, featuring leading names such as Arjiv Exports, AVYK Diamonds, Beautiful Colour stones, Coloured jewels, Krainz Creations, Noor Gems Japan, and Osi Vitoria Jewellery.

Reinforcing its strong foundation, JGTD continues its partnerships with DMCC as Official Partner and the Dubai Jewellery Group as Industry Partner for the fourth consecutive year.

Celine Lau noted that the fair has evolved into “the central sourcing hub for jewellery, gemstones, and technology across the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond.” She added that with shifting market dynamics and high gold prices, “buyers are focusing on efficiency, product diversity, and consumer trends – and JGTD delivers just that.”

Maurizio Ermeti highlighted that JGTD continues to advance the regional industry’s competitiveness through innovation and cross-border collaboration, calling it “a meeting point for the global trade where relationships are forged and new opportunities emerge.”

DMCC Executive Chairman and CEO Ahmed Bin Sulayem emphasised Dubai’s growing jewellery ecosystem, pointing to “double-digit growth in luxury jewellery and the rise of lab-grown diamonds” as key drivers of future expansion.

Meanwhile, Tawhid Abdulla of the Dubai Jewellery Group reaffirmed the organisation’s long-standing partnership with JGTD, describing it as “a platform that continues to strengthen Dubai’s position as the world’s leading jewellery destination.”

Golden Stage Highlights

Alongside the exhibition, the Golden Stage hosts a comprehensive knowledge series exploring design, innovation, and market insights. Yesterday’s sessions featured discussions such as Storytelling in Jewellery and Gemstones and Beyond Craftsmanship: The Role of Innovation and Consumer Insights in Sustaining Jewellery Businesses.

The upcoming sessions include The Middle East Jewellery Designers Forum by The New Jeweller, Trendvision’s “The Quantum Age”, and the China (Zhengzhou) – Dubai LGD Industry Partnership & Business Matchmaking Forum 2025. The programme concludes tomorrow with Selling Luxury Jewellery in the Digital Age with eBay.

Last year’s JGTD drew visitors from nearly 120 countries, with over half being international buyers. With new exhibitors, stronger partnerships, and a broader global reach, the 2025 edition continues to affirm Dubai’s position as the epicentre of jewellery trade and innovation.
