British designer Fei Liu, founder of Fei Liu Fine Jewellery, has once again demonstrated how artistry can be a vehicle for meaningful impact. His bespoke ‘Kiss of An Angel’ earrings — a sculptural, one-of-a-kind creation — were auctioned for US$4,864 at Bonhams’ California Jewels sale, with every dollar pledged to community recovery in Malibu.
Crafted in 18-karat gold, the earrings feature luminous rainbow moonstones and diamonds. Their fluid form, described by Fei as “wings in mirrored flight,” symbolises resilience and renewal — a theme inspired by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. The rainbow moonstone, he adds, represents “hope, new beginnings, and the quiet strength to navigate life’s change."
All proceeds from the auction will support the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu, specifically its youth programmes, trauma-informed care, and mental health services for more than 2,500 individuals impacted by the Palisades Fires. The organisation’s VP of Philanthropy, Molly Scott, shared that the contribution is a vital boost to their long road to recovery.
Fei expressed deep gratitude to the collector and to Bonhams for helping turn creativity into purposeful action. The auction, he notes, “reaffirms the power of jewellery not only to inspire but also to contribute to healing and hope,” giving the design “a life and purpose beyond adornment.”
Through this initiative, Fei Liu reinforces the idea that jewellery can transcend beauty — becoming a symbol of compassion, restoration, and community strength.
