Mumbai recently hosted a quiet yet powerful gathering to mark the unveiling of Heero, a book that reflects the life philosophy of Shri Arunkumar Ramniklal Mehta, founder of the Rosy Blue Group. The evening brought together industry leaders, public figures, and members of the Mehta family, underscoring the influence Shri Mehta’s values continue to hold across business and society.
Hosted by Smt. Rajnika Arun Mehta and the Mehta family, the book was formally unveiled by Shri Sharad Pawar, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, in the presence of Shri Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries. The moment carried significance not for scale, but for the ideals it celebrated.
Unlike traditional business biographies, Heero draws from more than forty years of Shri Mehta’s handwritten Gujarati journals, offering a deeply personal account of leadership grounded in discipline, ethics, and long-term vision. The book reflects a life shaped less by ambition and more by restraint, responsibility, and purpose.
The Gujarati edition has been authored by Chirantana Bhatt, while the English edition has been edited by Salil Tripathi, both shaped by extensive conversations with over 150 individuals who interacted with Shri Mehta across different phases of his life.
Adding emotional depth to the evening, family members — including Mrs. Amita Mehta, Mrs. Mona Mehta, and Mr. Dilip Mehta — shared reflections that revealed the man behind the institution, offering insights into his values as a husband, father, and mentor.
Curated over five years by Mr. Russell Mehta, Heero also traces Shri Arunkumar Mehta’s contribution as a philanthropist and institution builder, notably his role in shaping the Bharat Diamond Bourse. Released through private circulation, the book stands as a guide to principled decision-making — relevant far beyond the world of business.
